when he's addressed, fei du looks up from his phone! he's sitting on a park bench or something, and he gives her a little nod in greeting. ]

Hello, Ylfa - I did. The bowling alley was in a huge mess, when I went to check it out with Shenhe and Monika. What about you?

I was just out on the street. There was a blimp on fire.

We put it out, but I guess it did disappear. That's concerning...

I hope all the evidence wasn't 'erased', too...

[ hghk. he doesn't want to think about that. but!! he will pull up his phone, and offer it to ylfa to look through the pictures. ]

We went to the bowling alley - there were signs of a pretty intense fight, and a bit of blood. No fire, and no smells of smoke, as far as I could tell.

...Oh. Pictures. That would've been smart.

[ looks into the camera like this is the office ]

...Well, you were all a bit preoccupied.

[they were all being squeamish at blood or failing to put fires out teens.]

Well, I have a pretty good memory. It was a blimp on fire and a bunch of blimp pieces and blood.

[ listen that's valid. sometimes you don't like blood. we can't all be matsui. ]

It sounds like we may have to rely on that sharp memory of yours, then, Ylfa.

[ blimp on fire and blimp pieces and blood. oh boy. ] The more investigations we can do into each scene, the likelier we are to be able to catch whoever did it - or at least learn what happened. When you say pieces - was it like the entire thing exploded into pieces, or just some of it?

Just part. Like it crashed and caught on fire, so there were pieces everywhere.

I wonder if they were fighting on it.

[ hmmmmm. he looks thoughtful, hand to his chin. ] Hopefully, we'll have some way to go back and look at the scene. It sounds like we'll be very busy tomorrow one way or another.

[ there's a pause, and then, just like a tiny bit awkwardly: ] ...Are you alright?

A blimp does seem like the second most exciting place to fight someone here.

[...oh. she seems surprised at the question, but will give him a thumbs up.]

Lots of you seem worried. I'm not exactly a normal preteen, though, so don't.

If you handled a flaming blimp that easily, I guess that's very true. [ god. ] Something like this can be pretty shocking - I know there are a lot of our number who were pretty shaken.

...Out of curiosity, what's the first most?

Selfie World. There are so many props and backdrops. When we were locked in last night, I was thinking about my strategy if someone tried to come kill Zelda and Gerard, and I have to admit, it would've been a last stand with some flair.

after all of that, fei du can be found in the ikea. he's sitting in a chair tucked away a bit, a green jacket slung around his shoulders, and most importantly, there's soft music playing from his phone that's sitting on his lap.

his eyes are closed, but, at least it doesn't look like he's asleep or anything! ]

[oh convenient she is in here wandering away holding a tray of meatballs and eating them. she does not seem to be especially grieving...

but she will stop, sympathetic, when she sees him.]

[ oh sweet ylfa. when he hears her speak up, he pauses the gentle sweet tones of josh groban, and opens his eyes - then gives her a gentle smile. he does look much better than before, at least? ]

Hi - I'm alright, all things considered. Just a stressful day. [ ok ] Thank you for checking in, though.

Just a lot of blood. [ so maybe shenhe wasn't wrong, actually ]

...I thought I was more prepared to handle it than I was, is all. It's been a while since I've visited a live crime scene.

I was surprised. You're always agreeing with Rang Lee when he talks about wanting everyone to start killing. I thought maybe...you felt the same way, but you were too smart to say it directly. Is that not right?

[ ah. he smiles a little, at that - lifting his legs up and out of the way so she can come and settle down. ]

I've spent a lot of time around people like Rang Lee. [ well, in as much as People, because no one he knows has magic powers. or carries around an axe. ] Whether he means it or is just blowing hot air, I'd prefer for him to see me the way you described.

[ that might be harder now but he'll bs his way out of it. it's fine. ] Most people do, after all.

[ but that comes with the obvious - that maybe he's not like that at all. ]

Not all people. Just some. People like that, in particular.

[ an important distinction. ] It's much easier to learn their tricks when you walk in step with them; if I intend to knock them off of their pedestals, then I'll do so from the place they least expect it.
