Yeah. Ruby is cool, but I don't want to keep putting her in a position where she could get in trouble. But she said Kiichi doesn't handle pressure very well, and Aika would feel obligated to report things to her bosses if it's really against the rules, so definitely don't talk to them about it.

… That makes sense. Kiichi seems like he’d fold under pressure, and Aika’s pretty no nonsense. If it’s in her rulebook to tell the higher ups, she’d do it.

Aika...I think she is the sort of person who really believes in fate and inevitabilities. And that's why I don't think she's the kind of person who is going to just believe in us if we don't give her a good reason to.

I'm sure she doesn't personally want us to die, or to lose the erased, or to have our worlds be in danger. But she also probably doesn't believe going against her bosses for us is going to change any of that.

It does make me a little upset, here, when people say "we'll just have to find another way," but they don't ever have any specific ideas. They just don't get that wanting something to be true doesn't make it true. And I think that's sort of the way Aika is.

It could be that playing by their rules gets us somewhere we didn't expect. More leeway, and more ways to influence the situation if they think we're playing as intended.

Ultimately, not doing anything isn't an option anymore.
