I'm not sure exactly what she means by an earlier idea, but my best guess is that we'd hoped to be able to transfer our points to you. So it could be something along those lines... they might've found a way to make use of everyone else's points after all. [Or maybe it's just wistful thinking.]

...I hope so. It sounds like they know things that we don't.

[ also he doesn't want to believe that this all hinges on one team's points, because that will never be enough. ]

I'm sure they do. Shenhe said they had a plan a little while ago--she's not the type to say that without reason.

[And, yeah. His belief in their efforts is a good chunk of what's helped him keep it together. The rest of it has been looking out for them and Justice, but he's not going to say that. Haru and Ylfa have so much on their shoulders already.]

I'm a little surprised it didn't end today. I kind of expected it to.
