[she ducks instinctively as it goes flying regardless of whether it comes anywhere close to her and then pretends she didn't do that. quickly moving on.]

Weird, like - you're used to people giving you a hard time? Or something else?

I'm used to people finding this a little more unsettling.

Uh, where I'm from, lots of weird things happen. People turning into animals isn't the weirdest. But wolves kind of don't have the best reputation.

This is a pretty recent development, yeah.

I'm doing okay, mostly. It was a hard adjustment at first, but lately I've sort of been feeling myself.

I'm guessing it's not, like, a temporary kind of magic that can be undone?

Mm. Don't think so. It maybe could be undone, but I'm not sure it would be worth the cost.

Right... There's usually a cost.

We should probably find where that bowling ball went, anyways.

Or we could just pretend someone else caused the bowling ball damage...

You seem like you know a lot about curses and things.

Oh - not curses, necessarily... But the magic where I'm from can do a lot of different things. I don't think I've come across anything quite like your, um, situation, but it would probably be possible for someone to accomplish it with some kind of specialty.

Magic, huh? Are you a witch? A fairy? What's the deal?

A step above a witch, actually. Well - where I'm from, at least. I've been told some of the terminology is a little different... Back home, a witch is someone with a small amount of magical talent, and a medeian is someone who can do more than that. They're the ones who usually get scouted by magical academies and companies when they get old enough.

I've never heard of that. Most witches I've met are pretty powerful, but not as powerful as Baba Yaga. So maybe she's a median.

She's a very powerful witch. She can do things most witches can't do. And she just has a great aesthetic.
